Join other volunteers and committee members as we prepare to ring in 2008 as well as other excitng events. This is a great way of getting your mandatory 40 hours volunteer credit for high school students. May 3 & 4 – Canada Southern Hobby Show

Saturday and Sunday– St. Thomas - The North America Railway Hall of Fame will be partnering with the ECRM to host a combined model railway and hobby show which will take place at the Canada Southern Railway Station and at the Railway Museum.  The event will feature model railway layouts, modeler’s corner, gift, hobby and craft tables, vendors and refreshments. 

June 13, 14 & 15 – Heritage Festival

Friday – North America Railway Hall of Fame Induction Gala - A semi formal event that recognizes and honours the people, places, inventions, events and organizations that have had a significant impact on the railway industry and society. The Gala is planned to take place in the former Dining Room of the Historic Canada Southern Railway Station currently being renovated.

Saturday – Strawberry Social - Join the North America Railway Hall of Fame, St. Thomas, in the historic Canada Southern Railway Station and celebrate our railway heritage. We will be serving local strawberries and ice cream, and offering tours of the heritage building. Festivities will also include entertainment. 

Sunday – Heritage Fun Run/Walk/Ride - The North America Railway Hall of Fame will be organizing and implementing The Heritage Hustle Fun Run/Walk/Ride on June 15, 2008.  This will be an all ages event open to the entire community and ideally, an event St. Thomas looks forward to in years to come.Our goal as an organization is to raise awareness of St. Thomas’s rich heritage as the mapped course will target popular historic sites in the community, namely, Alma College, the Canada Southern Railway Station and the Court House 

November 15 – Windows of Christmas

Saturday - Visit the Historic Canada Southern Railway Station and witness a Christmas transformation. The Station will be transformed into a winter wonderland with displays from local community groups and other volunteers.  Warm up with a cup of hot chocolate, take a tour of the Station and visit the kids’ craft tables. 

December 31 – New Years Eve Gala

Wednesday Celebrate the New Year in style at the Historic Canada Southern Railway Station in downtown St. Thomas.  Festivities will include dining, dancing and plenty of fun

Port Stanley Terminal Rail

Enjoy a unique experience on the train, whether it is the Annual Easter Bunny Train, or the Murder on the Train being held each month between June and October.  Another great event is the Santa Express Train in November and December. Check the website for more information.

We are a registered not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and stage a community festival celebrating our community’s spirit and rich railway heritage. This years Iron Horse Festival is scheduled for August 26-29, 2010.  Please join us for the the greatest street festival in Elgin County.  See you there!
